Western Africa Map Quiz

Togo and Benin are the two that usually give me trouble, but lately I've remembered that Togo is smaller in area than Benin, just like Togo is one letter shorter than Benin.

First of all, I love your handle, vermiciousknid. Second... think of a "togo stick" (pogo stick) to remember it's long and skinny.

Go To Bed. That's my lame memory aid for remembering Ghana, Togo, Benin.

If it's the last thing you do on a day, then yes, that command makes sense. But do finish the quiz first. ;)

@Stewart: I find the hardest countries to learn the position of are the Caribbean nations (the Lesser Antilles anyway), and the Pacific Islands as a close second. Not so easy there to get their position in relation to other countries, or to recognize them from their form. On mainland nations, it's like they're on a grid, and they're hooked onto each other. Islands are literally swimming in the open sea, with nothing to hook on to. Just think about "Random guess the country on an empty map". Without reference, the islands are almost impossible to get.

I just remember benin is next to nigeria.

Benin is closer to Nigeria, and I get scam e-mails from both often, that's how I originally remembered.

I use the mnemonic "I've never BeNiN Nigeria, and I would like ToGo to Ghana" to remember which countries border each other

If you want to go to Ghana, then go there :), nothing stopping you
