2020 FY30 is a trans-Neptunian object (TNO), meaning it orbits beyond Neptune. It is estimated to be between 319 km and 715 km in diameter. It falls into the same category as icy bodies like Eris and Sedna, but it is much smaller than any of the recognized dwarf planets (roughly the size of South Dakota).
