Glad im not the only one that thought that. Messed up everything for me though, couldnt figure out what was wrong, took a lot of time, plus I didnt even start trying 90 because of it.
fifth is trick, but other than that i got all the counting ones (dont know the english term) while i only expected to get first and second ( cause in everyday life you can come across those). But things started rolling because I got third, I got it by guessing what 30 was (a faint memory of the word I guess) apparently troiseme was third, so started adding -ieme after all the numbers haha.
but on the other hand I thought, since 1-10 went well, I would get the multiples of 10 aswell... I failed massively... only thing that came to mind (besides troisieme haha) was quatrevingt and that didnt work..
so mixed result Not too bad. Hey thats weird I got 35, the average is 29 but I only beat 58% (Often when I have like 12 and the average is 11 I beat like 75%)
It's the opposite, in France it's commonly said that 'deuxième' is correct whether there is a third or not, when 'second' can be used if the list has 2 elements only. Yet the Académie Française states that both can be used in any case, with 'second' being considered more elegant. Therefore if you say Seconde Guerre Mondiale, it actually does not mean you are optimistic, but at least you speak elegantly :)
Sadly, I as a Belgian need it. 60% of the country speaks Dutch (including me) and we have to learn French for 8(!) years at school while in Wallonia, Dutch isn't even mandatory, despite Dutch being the majority language (by far).
What about accepting "septante" for 70 and "nonante" for 90. That's what is used in Belgium, Canada, Switzerland, some african countries... that's right, everywhere except France indeed ^^. To be fair, "octante" and "huitante" could be accepted for 80 as well since some swiss people use those.
Les réformes de 1990 n'ont pas vocation à remplacer l'orthographe traditionnelle, simplement à offrir une forme alternative, je connais personne qui dit "ognon" ou "nénufar"
Only got 14. Zero through 10, and 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Learned those so I could listen to the French radio broadcasts of the Montreal Canadiens' Stanley Cup run in 1986. Only way I could follow the games at the time. Always knew the score, which period it was and who had the puck. Oh, and I knew when the announcer yelled, "But!" that somebody had scored. The crowd reaction helped a lot, too. Beat Calgary in 5 games to win the silver chalice!
And there should be a S at the end of deux cents

but if your add a number (for example 81) you remove the s
81 = quatre-vingt-un
Good quiz! But there are some very little mistakes : "deux cent" -> "deux-cents" and "deux mille" -> "deux-mille"

8H18In deux centS there is a s too when there isn't any word after.
