They are considered to be a part of the AFC ( Asian Football Confederation). Even though they're not part of Asia they play with Asian countries. It's like Israel, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Turkey,etc. in Europe.

It says that it also counts in countries that are not geographically in Asia but participate in the Asian qualifying. Australia meets this requirement.

Yeah if I'm not mistaken India was supposed to play in a tournament but then their players did not want to play with shoes, so they withdrew from the competition.

I though they withdrew because it was Too expensive - but it doesn't matter either

I once read that India were much more focused on the Olympics and didn't take World Cup seriously. Gods, can we be stupid at times.

Only forgot Kuwait and literally made a quiz about them being in the world cup the other day
