Official data says that while most of the population has Belorussian as mother tongue (53%), now a majority speaks Russian at home (70%). But the data is not entirely reliable because it comes from Alexander Lukashenko's heavily pro-Russian government (he has made disrespectful remarks about Belorussian speakers), so perhaps it's not the best question for a test like this.
I thought the Tunisian flag was the Turkish flag, and also thought at that moment that Turkey spoke Arabic, so I managed to somehow get it right by getting both the country and the language wrong. I got it sorted out by the time I got to the actual Turkish flag.
Any reason for the Urdu Language and Pakistan''s flag being conspicuously missing? Urdu is the language which is officially and solely owned by Pakistan only.
First I thought Panama's Language is Panamanian but then I thought about History when the Spanish took Panama and then Colombia took independence in 1810 and then Panama took independence from Colombia in 1903 but since it was the same language during the Spanish took Panama and today so I thought Spanish.
I am not sure if this is even possible based on how the site is designed, but would it be possible to include the country name in the answers table? That way those of us that didn't know the country could see that after attempting the quiz?
without meaning to be woke but not one african language. I know arabic and some of the colonial languages are official languages but including a couple from Africa would make a very easy quiz more challenging
It's much rarer in African countries for a 'local' language to be spoken by a majority of the population. In some cases, a lingua franca such or colonial language will be the most-spoken; otherwise there will be several languages occupying broadly the same position.
Great Quiz! Of course, everybody knows that Australia is the true, definitive country for the representation of the Australian language. Another great one was the massive Panaman empire, stretching over continents of land. Better yet, the Neo-Carthaginian-Arabian Empire of Tunisia and the New German Confederation (Capital in Wien) were both very influential states.
I missed Bengali on my first attempt. I gave up, and literally as I pressed the give up button, I remembered Bengali. Probably gonna find someone to attack with hammers now. :/
