The parts that were included in the Purchase are there, right at the top left.

Could there be something wrong with the Canadian Provinces? I typed them in, but it wouldn't take them.

That's odd, I just tried it and it worked. Maybe it was just a one time thing, but add another comment if it happens again.

The quiz didn't change so it must have been a gremlin in the computer.

That's taught me something. I never realised that it was such a huge area. How much money was exchanged?

It costed 15,000,000 dollars in 1803, so about 275,000,000 dollars today. That’s about 51 cents an acre in todays money.

Sounds like a good deal to me!

Given that the federal outlay in 2017 was $4 trillion, $125 million for basically a third of the country's land area sounds like a good deal to me!

It was 15,000,000, but apparently, the original deal was JUST New Orleans, for around 10,000,000. So when you consider that ALL the rest of the land was only 5,000,000, it's a GREAT deal

I missed Louisiana 'cause for some reason I kept getting the spelling wrong until I ran out of time. That's with it literally being in the title. I am not very bright.

You can't miss Louisiana if the word is IN THE TITLE. Where you can see it.

Agree. Would be better without the map. (But then, I live in one of the states which makes it easier since we studied the purchase history extensively in school.)

How did a (tiny) portion of what the US bought become part of Canada? Was it just because it was above the parallel?

When the border was established, that land went to Canada while the U.S gained land in what is now Minnesota and North Dakota.

You could even argue that Texas shouldn't be here at all! Depends on whose claims you follow. I suppose it would've been included in France's claims and therefore the sale.
