Fun Fact #1: The U.S has a dispute with Tokelau, a territory of New Zealand. The reason it is not on this quiz is because New Zealand thinks it belongs to the U.S, but Tokelau does not.

Fun Fact #2: The United States has territorial disputes with 4.5 times as many countries as it actually borders.

Interesting. These quizzes are challenging, but I enjoy them. Is there any way you could add the name of the disputed territory/ies next to the country? Also, where do you find this information? I would be interested in checking it out

Most of these disputes come from the Guano Islands Act, when the US decided that every island made of bird poop can be claimed by them.

I wonder what dispute we have with some of these countries. I know there's like some island in Maine that Canada and the US both claim.

Not sure, but here are some guesses to the disputed areas: Canada: some islands east of Maine. Colombia/Honduras/Jamaica/Nicaragua: Serranilla Bank and Bajo Nuevo Bank. Cuba/Haiti: Navassa Island. Marshall Islands: Wake Island. Mexico: Land around the Rio Grande. Remember that some of these are just guesses.

Couldn't the Cuba dispute be about Guantanamo since it's on the island of Cuba but is owned by the US. I would guess Cuba wants it back.

Only 26% got Marshall Islands? I thought that knowing about Wake Island was just general knowledge.

Interesting that it has far fewer borders than China but has the same # of disputes.
