A few years ago, the British newspaper the Guardian gave their (slightly biased, but still fun) list of the greatest symphonies of all time. How many can you guess?
I was shocked to not see Mendelssohn or Prokofiev at all here. Shouldn't Mendelssohn Italian, Prokofiev Classical, and Prokofiev 5 be on here? On the other hand, I am not at all familiar with any Walton Symphonies, or Elgar (besides his Enigma Variations, which is not a symphony).
