You should change the title to something else that kinda make more sense or somethingbecause if it is countries with the word And there would be much more
My thoughts too. Tried long typing United Kingdom of Great Britain before the and hoping to place Northern Ireland after. But other than that good quiz.
It still doesn't follow the rule of two part country names like those above: "x and y." If the UK was just called "Great Britain and Northern Ireland," then it would fit.
On the "other" quiz site you have to type Bosnia and Herzegovina in full on their countries of the world quiz, along with all the others, no variations allowed either. One of the reasons I haven't visited them for many years, that and the horrible lay out of the pages. JetPunk is a better website by a long way.
I use Google Chrome and the built-in spellchecker figures out what I am trying to say if I get the spelling close enough. Whoever invented spellcheck is a genius.
Indeed I missed it too, on this site Bosnia suffices and I only know it as Bosnia-Herzegovina. Perhaps unknowingly I have heard it mentioned with an "and" as well but they must have swallowed it then.
I am using the Jetpunk named for the countries, which makes it just the United Kingdom. Papua New Guinea doesnt actually have the word "and" in its name.
Angela if you want "ANDorra", then you'd also need IcelAND, Finland, Ireland, New Zealand.... You get the picture... But this is the word and, as in two parts.
There is no implied or assumed "and" in Papua New Guinea. From 1949 until 1971 Australia administered "The Administrative Union of the Territory of Papua (south, former British colony) and the Territory of New Guinea (north, former Germany colony)". In 1971 the name of the territory changed to Papua New Guinea and when it became independent in 1975 the official name became The Independent State of Papua New Guinea. This remains the name to this day.
Not so fun fact from colonial days. Papua means "frizzy-haired" in Malay and Guinea of course is a reference to skin colour. Both colonies that would eventually join to become Papua New Guinea were named for shallow physical features of their inhabitants.
Like mentioned before, you might want to make it clearer that you only want countries that have the word 'and' as a separate word in the Jetpunk name. Otherwise you open a whole new can of worms and way more countries could be on this list. (New Zealand, Andorra, Finland etc.)
I think there is an artist called St. Vincent who’s pretty popular. I think they had a song hit big because it was in the Twilight soundtrack. I don’t think they performed with any Grenadines, though.
Would the quiz change much if you went by full country names? (Like United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, or Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela)
I don’t know how but until just now, I always thought it was Antigua and Barbadura, not Barbuda. I’ve never had to type it out like that so thanks for the knowledge haha
I feel blessed that I have family from Herzegovina so spelling it is quite easy for me. I even know the proper way to pronounce it, which is nothing like I would’ve thought before meeting my HerzeGOvina people.
Example: NetherlANDs, FinlAND
BUT this is OVERALL an AMAZING QUIZ
I can remember a lot of countries
and I can't spell
That would be an interesting concept too
What a shame for Grenada that the Grenadines were to join St Vincent.
And St Lucia left alone in the caribbean with no friiends
