I typed "up" and "mp" and they work for their respective Pradesh states
time is tight though.
One day when I do eventually get to see the world's largest democracy I will not be totally ignorant. At least I love cricket which is a good start in a country like India.
Please accept Maharastra for Maharashtra. There are questions about transliteration anyway for ष - even Wikipedia transliterates as "sa" - so even though Maharashtra is the formal English spelling, lots of folks (raises hand here!) may hear it said or read it in devanagari but don't immediately think of it as "sh." The sound is in between.
The sound is quite far back (it is a retroflex S represented by this IPA symbol: ʂ) so it's definitely not similar to the English S, but it is sometimes transcribed as Ṣ, so accepting S would be understandable.

The curve on this quiz is insanely high. The only two I missed were Dadra/Nagar Haveli/Daman/Diu and Lakshadweep, both pretty obscure, and yet I still only beat 78% of test takers :/
is it possible to mark some of the smaller regions differently, most of them are nearly impossible to spot and lakshadweep is not shown at all (maybe needs a shaded region in sea)
Funny how India agreed on the plebiscite and then made Kashmir a province/state. I thought the will of the Kashmiris would be heard first. And before you point out, Pakistan does not claim Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan as its own, they are still shown as disputed territories in Pakistani maps.
Chandigarh is a weird city overall. Whenever i would go to chandigarh during my visits to India before the rapid modernization in the last 3 years, it was already clean. The city is a planned city, and there was no congestion there. Its a pretty nice city. There is basically no smog there unlike other cities in the area. This is very confusing as the government cities that the reason for the pollution is that farmers near cities burn rice husks in order to keep warm, but the fact is that Chandigarh is located in probably the most farm-dense area of India (and thus the world).
Thanks for the update, but I don't understand the rationale behind graying out Siachen. I know it is disputed, but Jetpunk shows the all other disputed territories as part of the country that controls it. Siachen has been under Indian control since 1984.
Finally, the quiz has got updated! Just one thing: Ladakh and Jammu and Kashmir are union territories and not states (as depicted in the quiz). Please correct this.
Do you ever try a quiz and then see that you've done it once before - and then try to figure out how you got them all that time, except something obvious like Bihar??
Incorrect map once again.. Pakistan occupied Kashmir and Aksai chin belong to India, atleast show them as disputed not entirely given to Pakistan and China
Just realized the Andhra-Telangana border is wrong. When Telangana separated, a few parts of a Telangana district were given to Andhra for the Polavaram project. This means Andhra should border Chhattisgarh and Telangana should not border Odisha.
Something I've always been confused about, and this goes for every quiz this is an answer on: why do you need to type "uttarp" for Uttar Pradesh? Shouldn't just "uttar" work? Andhra, Himachal, Arunadal, and Madhya work without needing the P, so I don't see why Uttar should need it.
time is tight though.
