Is this the reason the animal's name is still literally "hunting leopard" in Chinese?

In Dutch it is also jachtluipaard meaning hunting leopard, though you can say cheetah too (and I think that is currently used more often).

Jacht=hunt and luipaard =leopard. However if you put a space in between luipaard you get "lazy horse". Lui=lazy and paard=horse :D.

The original etymology is ofcourse leo=lion and pard=panther.

I missed bison giraffe and tiger, if I hadn't been trying nearly every animal I could think of for bison (from ant to eagle) I might have gotten giraffe and tiger. Would never have thought of bison though.

Very surprised to see sharks nearly at the bottom, I thought that "fact" was pretty wellspread. Unless people only thought of naked molerat and then gave up.
