The county has declared support in being in Jefferson, at least according to the official State of Jefferson website. I don't know why they want to be in but they do lol.

OK now I realize. It is because the counties in jefferson think since they are more rural and secluded, they don't get as much recognition.

Yeah, they're basically mad because they are mainly republican and think they don't get representation in California and Oregon's Democratic governments.

Unfortunately that is what much of the leadership of the State of Jefferson has been pushing now is just some butt hurt Republicans not getting their way, rather than what the original purpose to actually try to achieve a more effective smaller form of government.

In the description at the top, can you provide context of what Jefferson is (like saying it's a proposed state that covers northern California and Oregon)? I had to look it up because I was unfamiliar with the concept. It might be common knowledge on the West Coast, but I've never heard anyone mention it on the East Coast.
