People seem to have trouble with this quiz. I aced it on my first try. On these particular kinds of quizzes I seem to have a fairly high aptitude--but I sure suck at other kinds of quizzes.
I've found that this happens quite often. I think when doing these quizzes, you don't normally think "Well, let's see, which country do I live in" first. Every country (or city) becomes just an item equal to all the others, Whether you're living in it - or have lived there - or happen to just have been there on holiday becomes entirely irrelevant. It's like doing a mathematical equation that has the solution of, say, 80. Of course you know the number 80, and maybe your granddad had just turned 80. That won't get you to the solution any faster, though. You still have to work it out.
I think Azerbaijan is easier because there is a Z as the second letter. That narrows it down quite a bit for guessing. if the x was one of the given letters for Mexico it would have been much easier for basically the same reason.
Tough quiz, sucked a lot of people in just because they think they know the names of the countries, but 196 possibilities and you give 3 letters of a 7 letter word.
If you get the obvious ones you are doing very well in my opinion.
Got them all with 2:02 left. Kosovo was the last one after trying komodo, komoros, comoros, solomo.. just took a while to think about it. --- I agree it was a tough quiz and a real good one!
If I didn't take the 'Countries of the World' quiz 3-4 times a week there are at least 8 I would have missed. And I didn't even come close to acing this.
this quiz was awesome!! Have to make one in my language haha. Couldn't get more than 22/30, but thanks to the "countries of the world" -guiz I got that much
Why is this so hard? Kept staring at _G_P_ and _U_U_D_ wondering why I couln't just get them. Should be way easier but for some reason it isn't. Love this quiz :)
I looked at the problems, ready to click "start," and after "Iraq," I could not get another one until "Fiji." Literally, I sat here for hours (watching msnbc too) working on these! Only clicked start after I'd figured them out--didn't want the answers until my aging brain figured it out! Thanks for one of the hardest quizzes yet!
you should have clicked give up immediately after and not fillin the answer. Otherwise the statistics get really skewed. And that is part of the fun, seeing where ou did compared to others.
I disagree. The statistics aren’t affected with untimed, it’s good practice to figure it out, and that doesn’t stop you from seeing if what you struggled with lines up with the stats in the answers.
Mexico and France were harder than they should be, I got them though, Germany was weirdly tough aswell and I missed that one (plus Kosovo, latvia and erm 2 others)
1. immediately write Iraq
2. randomly pick a clue in column #2 and solve it
3. randomly pick a clue in column #3 and solve it
4. randomly pick a clue in column #1 and solve it
5. Repeat #2 - #4
***Rules:
- Never spend more than 1 second thinking unless it's the last country
- Write your strategy in the comments as the time runs out if you really can't think of France.
Also, Panama could work for the Canada answer, couldn't it?
I other quizzes i type 'holland' instead of 'Netherlands' because it's shorter and usually replaces it in the same sort of way.
Very good quiz idea!
If you get the obvious ones you are doing very well in my opinion.
