I know what you mean by it, but "Overseas Regions" and "Overseas Territories" mean basically the same thing and that can be very confusing. French Guiana is, by definition, "overseas territory". I think (and this applies to the whole site) that it would make much more sense to call them "external" or "dependent" territories instead of "overseas", because that seems like what you are actually referring to.

Unfortunately, this is not correct.

French Guiana is an overseas "region". Here's an analogy which is helpful to some people.

French Guiana is like Hawaii. Just as Hawaii is a state of the United States, French Guiana is a region of France. It has no legal distinctions with the other regions.

I think you might have misunderstood. I know French Guiana (and the other four overseas regions) are integral parts of France and not overseas territories. I'm just saying that the term "overseas territories" is misleading for what it's trying to describe.

May it be noted that the netherlands also shares a border with france (Sint Maartens-Saint Martin border) so if that can please be added. Main reason I point this out is because I was trying to name the shortest borders for each and noticed that wasnt a valid answer.

Saint Martin is considered an overseas territory of France. This quiz does not include borders of overseas territories, which is why it is not included.

for your information, overseas territories don't count as is stated in the caveat and the part of that island owned by the Netherlands is an overseas territory so on this quiz it does not count
