Name a Valid First-Level Subdivision for Every Country - Pro
There are 3637 inhabited subdivisions in the world. Can you name at least one for every country? In this version, subdivisions that are named after the country itself, its capital or cardinal directions do not work.
A first-level subdivision is a portion of a country delineated for the purpose of administration, which is included within no other subdivision of the said country.
I'm wondering what divisions you have in your list that should have triggered Ivory Coast. I tried the ones below all of which work in IAB's World and Africa first level subdivision quizzes but none of them turned it green. Sud Comoe, N'Zi, Folon, Grans Ponts, Poro, Bere, Nawa, Goh, Loh Djiboua, and maybe a few others.
Great job, I managed a 65 to my surprise by guessing regions (mostly islands but some deserts) and cities! Can you accept HCMC for Ho Chi Minh City as it usually is? Also, it would be neat if you could list some answers but delete it from the grid to allow people to see it in stats, but I suppose it wouldn't be that hard to look it up.
I guessed Natal for Brazil and got South Africa. I also tried Santiago for Cape Verde and came out with Argentina, Cuba, Dominican Republic, and Ecuador instead.
great quiz but shouldnt central, west and east equatoria count (south sudan)? or do these fall under cardinal directions. if so, could you please update the description to state that any subdivisions INCLUDING cardinal dircetions in their name do not count. also, why doesnt abyei count? also, please add 5 to 10 minutes
the first subdivision level for netherlands - at least according to jetpunk standards - isnt actually provinces but constituent countries (netherlands and aruba, bonaire, curacao i think)
Exactly what I looked and waited for. Just a question:
How to solve Netherlands and Bosnia? In the official quiz Netherlands has no provinces and typing Netherlands obviously doesn’t work, but the provinces that are really there don’t work neither like Gelderland, Limburg, both Hollands, Groningen, Frisia. And Bosnia should have no answers I think, both Herzegovina and Bosnia aren’t allowed, Sarajevo neither, so there’s nothing left right?
- North, South, East, West, Central, Mid, Inner, Outer, Upper, Lower, Lesser, Greater and derived type-ins
- Capital, Federal District, ... and capital names
- Anything that contains the country's name itself.
Have fun!
