Multiple users have encountered an issue on Firefox version 108.0.1 where they only had a couple dots (3 to 5, usually) showing up instead of 15, or all dots appeared then disappeared.
We have now found that the issue is related to the .ad class that is used and hidden by certain ad blockers on Firefox.
Turns out almost all of the dots were copies of Andorra, and inherited the class! Which is now fixed. I don't think any of you will get the issue now, but please let me know if you still do!
Anyone else not have a dot show up? I only had 14 dots on the map and it told me I missed one in Germany. There is no dot on the map anywhere near Germany. Any clue what happened?
I typed in "Ukraine", because I keep forgetting that JetPunk has officially awarded Crimea to Russia! Ukraine will only really have it back when JetPunk says so.
Now that is odd. I typed Russia and it was marked wrong with Ukraine being right. However, Jetpunk is right.
Crimea is part of Russia as a matter of fact, despite right thinking people around the world deploring the situation. If a country takes by force an area previously outside it's borders and officially incorporates it into its territory and has de facto control of it, then however regrettably, the area becomes part of the invading country.
To argue otherwise would mean for example that Tibet and Wales remain independent and that 13 States of the USA remain part of the British Empire.
Now from the point of view of a half Welsh Brit all the above examples should be as suggested as in each case the territory was taken by force. But unfortunately that's not the way that the World, or International Law. works.
Windows 10, Firefox 108.1 (64 bit). I do have ABP Adblock Plus running in Firefox. Also Duckduckgo Privacy Essentials. I tried "Random Point on Land to US State" and "Random Point on Land to Country" just now, and they both work normally. I switched off AdBlock for this page, but still have the same problem. Weird, huh?
We think we might have solved the issue, stemming from the fact that most dots are copies of Andorra's dot, and so have the class "ad". We think possibly firefox is using this class forcing only the first object to be displayed (since "ad" is short for advertisement).
I'm on this website for more than 10 years now and this is the first time I actually got the last answer in the last miliseconds and it still counted. My fastest time is officially 45 seconds. :D
Nice to play this again! Any thoughts on making a more 'balanced' version? For example I see that there are 518 Russia dots and 10 Slovenia ones. Maybe you could make a version where you have no more than 40 dots for each country?

- What's your OS?
- Do you use extensions? Even an ad-blocker? Try disabling them on this page
- Do you have the same issue on other quizzes in this series?
I'm using win10, firefox 108.0.1 (64-bit).
Never encountered a similar problem on the site. The US quiz works normally, I see all the dots from the start and they don't vanish.
Hopefully the fix works for you!
