You say you avoided subgenres, but the quiz is packed with subgenres. Garage? do you mean garage rock, which is a subgenre of rock, or UK garage which along with dubstep, grime, electro, house, trance, bassline, drum and bass and techno are all subgenres of EDM. Bassline is also known as bassline house, so its definitely a subgenre of house. Trap is a subgenre of rap. Rap and Hip Hop music are basically the same thing (Rap is actually a component of Hip Hop music along with sampling and scratching). Heavy metal, punk and grunge are all subgenres of rock. If you look at the "subgenres" of classical music, whether you consider the eras separately (Renaissance, Baroque, Romantic(ism), 20th century, etc) or look at the difference between opera, symphonic, choral, and chamber music-you will find greater diversity than there is between all of the EDM subgenres which sound the same to me. Also are there any sources you can cite for how the popularity of these "genres" was determined?
