The 49ers will always be linked with the Cleveland Browns, as they were 2 of the 3 teams absorbed by the NFL from the old AAFC in 1950. (the 3rd team, the Baltimore Colts, folded after 1 season, to be replaced a couple of years later by a new, but unrelated, Baltimore Colts franchise)
