Users frequently complain that JetPunk is too "U.S. centric". Free yourself from the global hegemon! Try to guess these countries that don't have a U, S, or A anywhere in their name.

There are 19 comments with at least 10 likes, meaning that 16.8 percent of the comments have at least 10 likes, and this is definitely one of the top ratios.
The creator, Rg1227 has 7 comments, that total 198 likes, meaning he gets 28.2 likes per comment on average, including an average of 56.7 on just his first three alone.
I'm giving this a 5.00 rating for the comments alone
No, we didn't. The Government has adopted "Czechia" as an acceptable substitute to be used in official capacities, in the hopes of making the name more acceptable to tourists, but "Czech Republic" the proper, legal name.
I mean, the official name of many countries isn't what we use, do you say "United Kingdom" or "United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland" for instance?
Me, and also all Jetpunk quizzes that refer to the Republic of the Congo (even if Congo is used as a type-in). It's necessary to call it that to distinguish it from the other Congo.
Most often, saying Congo refers to the larger Congo, the Democratic Republic of the Congo. I personally like to use the capital prefixes. Congo-Brazzaville and Congo-Kinshasa, it is the easiest way to separate the two countries in just regular talk in my opinion.
Fair criticism isn't whingeing. Quizzes about world history, for example, usually have more questions about the USA than any other country, even though it's a young nation with relatively little history to its name.
It says in the description of the quiz that this quiz was made because they find JetPunk to be too "U.S. centric", which quite frankly I agree with. I don't see half as many quizzes about the United Kingdom. If you want to make one, go ahead, though it wouldn't be as hard since not THAT many countries use the letter "K". Also, even if you did make a quiz like this but with the U.K., there aren't just two countries you know. ;) If you wanted this to be "fair" then we need 196 "Countries Free From X" quizzes.
I made this quiz back in 2017, when I did not know much of JetPunk, so it wasn't made to make a point about US-Centric. It just took 3 years to catch the eye of QM and feature it :)
Clever idea. Thankful you had the continents listed or I would have wasted time just working my way mentally through each one. I had Mexico and Belize before I even hit the start button. Glad I didn't have to rule out every Caribbean island nation before moving on to South America!
@qatari a better phrase is jetpunk uses Ivory Coast. Using the word official in that sentence gives the false impression Ivory Coast is the official name (instead of Côte d'Ivoire.)
Excellent idea! Thoroughly enjoyed taking this quiz, but for the shortage of time. My brain needs more time to gel and slip through the furniture of my mind. Another couple of minutes would be appreciated.
The quiz says it only uses official Jetpunk English names. Just like how on most quizzes, UK is accepted for United Kingdom or Czechia is accepted for Czech Republic, Congo is accepted for both the Republic of the Congo and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, but Congo is not the official Jetpunk English name for either of those countries.
It was harder than it looked and missed Montenegro like most people. I cannot believe how many people have queried why certain countries have been omitted from the list despite clearly having either a U, S or A in them. I couldn't understand why a couple of my efforts were not accepted but realised that I must have been wrong, which I was
What I liked about this quiz is it was a fun way to acknowledge that many feel JetPunk is too US centric.Love Jetpunk but this is true. Sport is a particularly frustrating section as nobody outside the US has any idea about the NBA, NFL, Baseball. Still the best quiz site out there though.
As for the quiz itself, a good idea but a lot of flaws as already pointed out.
Basketball is popular all over Europe, ice hockey as well (although mostly in cold countries). Baseball is big in Japan (chortle) and a lot of Latin America. American Football is followed all over the place - they even play NFL games in Europe.
The old "US sports are only popular in the US" cliché is, well, just a cliché these days.
Aren't quizzes on this site usually featured once they've been nominated by a whole bunch of users? Wouldn't that just mean that the majority of quiz takers tend to want those types of quizzes? Complaining about this site being too American is... anti-democratic!
It's bloody well hilarious reading these comments. I loved one saying "What about Burundi?" and someone answered (I'm paraphrasing) "It's happily in Africa where it's always been, along with its two "U"s."
Made many of the same errors others have already identified above, but what about Cote d'Ivoire? I have seen the French version of the country's name used often in other quizzes, or have the standards shifted?
er freqently complin tht JetPnk i too ".. centric". Free yorelf from the globl hegemon! Try to ge thee contrite tht don't hve . . or nywhere in their nme.
At first, I was thinking HISTORY-WISE (So I put the Philippines and Cuba). Me being the dumb person who doesn't read EVERYTHING in the rules, asking myself "Why doesn't it work?"... Read the rules again, and was like "OOOhhhhhh that's why!". Got most of them.
Glad to see a quiz not involving the US... oh wait it's in the title... and the caveats... and you think about the USA through the whole thing. You subtly tricked us, nicely played
It's jaw-dropping how many people commented "How about" and than a country that clearly contains U, S or A. Laughed hard on this comment section and I feel for poor rg1227 for being notified about it.

I went to budva
Togo's own website: https://www.republicoftogo.com/
BBC: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-14106781
Encyclopaedia Britannica: https://www.britannica.com/place/Togo
But I take your point, and great idea for a quiz.
The only answers that would remaind would be:
- Belize
- Kingdom of Morocco
- Montenegro
All the other countries in this quiz has their full legal name as "Republic of" or "United States of".
(Don't think you could completely escape these kinds of comments :)
dr congo?

(I'm not American in any sense of the word.)
