that would seem reasonable except that the way you put this leads inevitably to the worst of all possible assumptions regarding you and your motivations for thinking/posting this.

No idea why I entered "Henry" instead of "Harry" but somehow it was correct.

Henry is his actual name; Harry is a nickname.

I assume that this is a joke but I challenge you to name any famous redheads that aren't of British or Irish descent at some point in their heritage

From this list? Van Gogh. Otherwise: Erik the Red, Malcolm X, and plenty of famous (but not English-speaking) people across Northern Europe.

It is however true that red hair is almost exclusive to Northern Europeans or those with Northern European ancestry, and that the majority of redheads come from the UK or Ireland. Malcolm X incidentally had reddish hair from Scottish ancestry.

You might as well let Horner be accepted for Halliwell but keep it Halliwell

You should accept Harry Windsor or just Windsor for Prince Harry. That's his surname.

No it's not; the English royals don't have surnames, although Harry and his brother served in the military under the surname Wales. Windsor is their royal "house", analogous to Tudor or Stuart.

Royal houses are also analogous to surnames - passed down through the male line etc… They should technically have changed names from Windsor (previously Saxe-Coburg Gotha) to the house of Mountbatten (previously Battenberg) when Elizabeth married Phillip, but the truth is there are no laws or written constitutions on these matters. They can, and do, make it up as they go along, essentially doing whatever they please.

As an interesting aside, the happy couple were close relatives, being second cousins through Christian IX of Denmark, while additionally sharing a great great grandmother (Victoria) making them third cousins on that side as well. This might go some way to explaining the general lack of intelligence in the family to this day…
