Funny thing is I counted maybe 5 players that are real legends and maybe 3 that were worth the money. Back in the days when you payed 40-50 million for a player that was a superstar on level of Messi and Ronaldo, like Brazilian Ronaldo, Figo or Zidane. Today they pay this kind of money for some average players. Football has changed, cant see as many stars like even 10-15 years ago. There are 10 superstars and rest are bunch of "no-names"

Was very confused not to see Kaka on this list. As I remember he was the most expensive ever signing, for a week before Ronaldo signed for £80m back in 2009 - But had to research it and he was the most expensive player in pounds, but still wasn't more expensive than Zizu in Euros - Head, baffled...

I would say out of everyone on this list De Bruyne has/was the most worth the money but there is an argument to be made for many of them, and we will just have to see how some others do.

Forgot Eden Hazard, even though it was only two years ago but a fairly forgettable two years due to injuries and loss of form. James Rodriguez is another whose fall saw him fail to get into an Everton side and then leave to play in Qatar

None of the numbers are adjusted for inflation. Perhaps you are getting your info from an inaccurate source. The fee was originally 150 billion lire, converted to Euros at a fixed exchange rate of 1:1936.27. Hope this helps!

Strange. I couldn’t spell Gvardiol, so I googled his name. Wikipedia says he signed for 77m. I understand there being a slight difference between different sites on the internet but that’s quite a variation.

I assume yours includes add ons and Wiki is just the basic fee, or something along those lines.
