Funny thing is I counted maybe 5 players that are real legends and maybe 3 that were worth the money. Back in the days when you payed 40-50 million for a player that was a superstar on level of Messi and Ronaldo, like Brazilian Ronaldo, Figo or Zidane. Today they pay this kind of money for some average players. Football has changed, cant see as many stars like even 10-15 years ago. There are 10 superstars and rest are bunch of "no-names"

None of the numbers are adjusted for inflation. Perhaps you are getting your info from an inaccurate source. The fee was originally 150 billion lire, converted to Euros at a fixed exchange rate of 1:1936.27. Hope this helps!
