I actually did include the Predators in my original quiz, but when this quiz became featured it was taken out. Plus some people felt very strongly the opposite way— that they should not be included.
It shouldn't say mascots probably. The Edmonton Oilers have a lynx, the Los Angeles Kings have a lion, Buffalo Sabres have a sabre-toothed tiger and the Ottawa Senators have a lion. And that's just the NHL. I get the reason people would want to include the Preds, but not what you are going for here I assume.
Since you have North America in the title, maybe add the CFL? There are only two cat teams in the CFL, the BC Lions and the Hamilton Tiger-cats (mostly referred to as the Ti-cats).
Same here! Lion cubs, right? I feel like they should count (though, I suspect their name is a reference to the other Chicago team, which is definitely not a cat.)
It's actually the other way around! The Chicago Cubs were first referred to that name in 1902, and they officially adopted it in 1907, while the Chicago Bears weren't founded until 1920 and took the name "Bears" in 1922. Since football was the newer sport, most new football teams at the time took their names in one way or another from their existing local baseball team, so they were the Bears to match the Cubs.
Did I just get 5 pts for this? I HAVE TO NAME 196 COUNTRY CAPITALS OF THE WORLD IN ONE MINUTE TO GET 5 POINTS AND I GET 5 POINTS AFTER DOING JUST SIX QUESTIONS!?!?!?!?!?
You don't have to name all 196 capitals in one minute to get 5 points, as that would be impossible. You just have to equal or beat the score of 95% of quiz-takers.
I guess the quiz instructions should be updated to say 'three' rather than 'four', now that the NBA has no cat-named teams. That being said, the caveat does exist to say that

cat teams boo
Thanks for the points
Would North America not include WNBA Minnesota Lynx? CFL’s Hamilton Tiger Cats?
Not to mention college teams. They are in North America also
