Some abbreviations that work in one language may also not work in another, even when the shown name is the same. Keep in mind that every one of these languages works different, and as such what is acceptable for misspellings is different as well.
All type ins come directly from the respective Countries of the World quizzes, and I have verified all will work when you type the exact displayed name. If you got only part of them you made a typo somewhere that was acceptable for some, but not for all.
Seriously, great work. Awesome quiz with a cleverly made map.
BTW you get the Portuguese Vietnã but it says "Vietname" in the answer.
This quiz truly is one of the 'great works' of Jetpunk!
"belgia" is accepted in polish but not in finnish,
"timor oriental" is ok in french but not in spanish,
"hungria" ok in spanish but not in portuguese,
"Santa lucia" ok in italian but no in spanish and portuguese
Example: Tunesia will trigger English Tunisia, but not Portuguese Tunisia
It would be terrific if the top row of the table that shows the languages could be frozen, so that they would still show when you scrolled down the table.
Also, I needed to type the apostrophe for "Côte d’Ivoire” to be accepted. I didn’t think that punctuation marks were usually required in JetPunk answers.
I don't think it's possible to freeze the top row on JetPunk sadly, but I do agree it would be nice.
As for Côte d'Ivoire, simply typing cotedivoire works for me. I think you made a typo somewhere in your attempt without apostrophe
If, as you suspect, it is not possible to freeze the top row on a JetPunk quiz, might I suggest repeating the row with the languages in the middle of the quiz and at the bottom of it?
Just one little quibble: the German spellings without umlauts don't work – eg. Koenigreich. I don't know if you might want to do something about that... might be a lot of work though, I don't know, sorry!
Must say, Dutch has some real ugly (phonetic) ways of writing those names. That, and in some cases it is generally written in the more international accessable way, so kinda old-Dutch the way some read here.
Never before have I been so close to 5/5 points but not able to get them.
Great quiz btw!
What an absolutely fantastic quiz.
Got 72% and beat 89.2% of test takers :)))))))))))
