Let's see if this comment ages well... I think Anthony Davis is overrated. Putting him ahead of Curry is crazy, considering that Davis has never led his team past the first round of the playoffs. And, yeah, his teammates have sucked, but that didn't stop stars like Lebron (or even Allen Iverson) from carrying their teams to deep playoff runs. My prediction is that the Lakers win 45 games this year and lose in the first round.

Individual skills - Davis is one of the best and most likely in the top 5 in the NBA right now. Accolades - not so much. He has the potential to surpass duncan to be the greatest PF of all-time. Curry could be the 2nd greatest PG of all time but will never surpass Magic.

Completely different situation. Guys like James, Curry and A.I are players who constantly have the ball in their hands. Davis is a PF/C who is reliant on other players to get him the ball or at the very least step up and make shots when he is double or triple teamed.

Exactly my first thought and reaction. First, comparing a Power Forward/Center's lack of ability to succeed with a weak supporting cast to that of someone like Lebron or Iverson who dominates the ball is silly. Also, very few teams that have relied on a Lebron or Iverson to make a run with an otherwise weak team have been as weak as Davis' Pelican teams - they mostly weren't even been trying to win and have saddled him with unnecessary minute restrictions and other nonsense. Also, Lebron is one of the best players to ever play the game and plenty of legitimate superstars fail to measure up to him. AD is a legit Top 5 player in the NBA.

Wow, I was wrong. It's early in the season, but the Lakers are 24-3. Anthony Davis is playing like a beast on both ends of the court. Guess I won't be placing any sports bets in the near future. :)

Anthony Davis's rank went up 1, but you've got it marked in red instead of green. Not super important, just something I noticed. And I concur with your Lakers/Davis assessment. My hope is that my Utah Jazz will kick everyone's trash in the Western (and hopefully Eastern) Conference this year!

When I typed in the first 5-6 letters of Bogdanovic, it auto-completed Bogdan (Kings) but not Bojan (Jazz) Bogdanovic. Surely this constitutes cruel and unusual punishment.
