Have lived in Tanzania my whole life. Kilimanjaro is definitely completely in Tanzania. You have to drive a good 5 hours to reach the border of Kenya from the town (Moshi) where Kilimanjaro is located.
5 hours? I agree it completely in tanzania, but measured from the summit it is less than 20km to the kenyan border (as the crow flies). Hard to determine/define where at the bottom the mountain starts, but obviously it is less than that (there is an inclination already starting at the border (and even before that, you can check it if you select a walking route on google maps). In 5 hours a normal person could wálk a further distance than that, about 25 km.
(Even from moshi it is only 30 km to the border which yes is at the foot of kilimanjaro, but quite a random point to start measuring from, because the kenyan border is closer on the other side of mount kilimanjaro).
Your cars must drive very slowly and with a lot of detour if walking gets you there faster (and if we assume the distance from the foot of the mountain is in the region of 12,5 km they could actually walk there ánd back!)
I did some more digging, pretty sure you measured from Nairobi Which is about a 5 hour drive. (But nairobi is quite a long way from the tanzanian border. I don't understand how you could have mixed that up seeing as you life in tanzania)
Elbrus is completely in Russia, as it is located about 10 km north of Main Caucasus Ridge, and border lies right on the Main ridge. I've been there personally.
The Caucasus moutainrange is indeed on the border, but mount elbrus is definitely on the russian side, like molo indicated it it 10 km from the Greorgian border.
I never heard of either one. For some reason I always forget about Indonesia - I mentally go through all the continents and skip over it because it isn't attached.
Forgetting about Indonesia is probably something to work on - it is the world's fourth most populous nation after all, which makes it somewhat significant as these things go.
Carstensz Pyramid is in New Guinea, but the half controlled by Indonesia. Whilst most of Indonesia is indeed in Asia, the divide is usually drawn along the Wallace Line, which places the island of New Guinea in Oceania (or Australasia - Oceania is a region rather than a continent). Just like Turkey and Russia, Indonesia is a transcontinental nation.
A peninsula is a piece of land surrounded on three sides by water, Yucatan is that in Mexico, the little bit of that peninsula that Belize touches is just a coastline. Guatemala even has it's coast on the Pacific Ocean, plus a tiny line of coast near Honduras. see ... ... https://www.google.com.au/maps/@19.5272673,-93.621201,6z
That seems a bit like saying an island is completely surrounded by water, so Haiti and the Dominican Republic can't be said to be on an island, since their part has a land border. The Yucatan is a peninsula regardless of where you draw borders and if a country has land on that peninsula, then said peninsula is (in part) in that country. Borders don't change physical geography.
Actually, how exactly is the border of Yucatan peninsula defined? The western part is obviously at the little bay where Ciudad del Carmen is located, but where is the eastern border? If you go southeast towards the sharp corner of the coast near lake Izabal, then yes, Guatemala and Belize should count too. But if it is straight east towards the city of Chetumal, then the answer would be only Mexico. You could make arguments for both, so I would certainly be interested to know which one is right.
Im from India and according to the Indian government and google maps in India K2 is in Kashmir a state in India. Pakistan puts K2 in their country due to the dispute between the borders of kashmir.Could you please accept India For K2
