Basically, his visual style massively favours symmetrical scenes that are framed in such a way that they seemingly lack depth, as opposed to most films that favour the rule of thirds, etc
Ha ha...stuff white people like...that's hilarious. Well, I can't deny I do love these movies, except Darjeeling Limited and The Life Aquatic. Really looking forward to The Isle of Dogs.
I thought it was okay. Oddly, though, my Muscovite ex who loved quirky comedies, liked Wes Anderson movies, liked animation, and was obsessed with "doggos"... she hated the movie.
Missed the three most recent, but I really should have had Moonrise Kingdom. I didn't know Isle of Dogs was a Wes Anderson movie. Never loved this guy though. I find his pacing to be tough to endure.
Is The French Dispatch even out yet? Its Wikipedia page says it's premiering tomorrow at Cannes, with an official release on October 22. What's the criteria to be included on these quizzes? (Then again, regardless of when it comes out, I guess Wes Anderson *did* direct the movie already.)
QM seems to jump the gun on these movies quizzes a lot. For instance he put out an updated version of the MCU movies quiz in March which included films set to be released in July, September, October, and December.
The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar and Three More came out on Netflix in April this year. It is still considered a film even though it is a compilation of four short film (that were released last year). You should probably add it. Also his next film, The Phoenician Scheme, will be releasing next year. It's already been completely filmed. Right now (as of the writing of this comment) it is currently in post-production.
