Guess the first names of these US presidents given their last names.
Presidents are listed in order of their time in office, beginning with Washington and ending with Obama.
If any presidents have both the same first and last names, specifically the Adams and Bushes, a middle name or initial is used to distinguish between the two. For these four presidents, the middle names or initials ARE significant and you MUST use them when typing your answers.
In this quiz, presidents are listed by their most commonly known names, which could include nicknames or middle names. In these cases, their given birth names will also be accepted if you decide to use them.
It's fine to allow Bill and Jimmy for Clinton and Carter, but you should accept their actual first names of William and James. And the same for Thomas Woodrow Wilson and John Calvin Coolidge. As for requiring John Quincy Adams' middle name, that's ridiculous (FWIW I entered it correctly--but I still think it's ridiculous). And is there some special reason why you threw in the middle initial for Polk, Grant, Hayes, FDR, Eisenhower, JFK and LBJ and the middle name for William Henry Harrison, Arthur, and Taft?
For what it's worth, Grover Cleveland's first name is Stephen, as in Stephen Grover Cleveland. Also, Gerald Ford's given name at birth was Leslie (King).
It's good to distinguish the names of presidents when each entry fills in all the boxes, but in this case all the presidents are in order, so the distinguishing names are redundant. And you've missed the opportunity to fill in the two Cleveland presidencies separately! (something that annoys me on all the other Presidential quizzes) I couldn't see the list filing in on my screen, and I typed in "Grover Benjamin Grover" and was most disappointed when the second Grover didn't disappear.
But, good quiz.
