It's usually the time that gets me in these US State quiz as it's harder to recollect (despite knowing them all) when you're not American. This one was a cinch though- 2'26" remaining.
Should edit the quiz to include the territories (Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Guam, etc.) just to trip up those using the Fifty Nifty or 50 states that rhyme songs...
Got it with 3:12 to go. I learned the states in alphabetical order by song in 2nd grade and to this day it's how I still remember the states and their names. I just sing the song to myself. :)
0:43 remaining. Would be more embarrassing if I was American. I completely forgot about all the "New" states and couldn't figure out why there were so many Ns!
I was surprised we were given a first letter. I'm Canadian and could do this quite easily. Can someone do an alphabetical state capitals one with no hints? I'd like to try that...
Did you know Ohio is the only state that has at least one city/village that starts with each letter of the alphabet? See how many you can name! http://www.jetpunk.com/user-quizzes/103225/ohio-cities-a-z
I know all the US States on the map of USA, I can name them all in relation to their position to each other, yet when it came to alphabetical I didn't have enough time to finish, trying to work out the alphabetical order especially in the M's and the N's, only got 1 point for my trouble.
When I was young many older people referred to the country as "Old Mexico". I'm guessing that started when New Mexico became a state. I said something to my grandmother once about Mexico and she asked, "Which one, new or old?"
When did they come up with this fifty-nifty song? I never heard of it. My son, who is 18, says he never heard of it either.
It’s funny, but I grew up in New Jersey, and I don’t have any recollection of having to memorize all the states. I do remember though, very clearly, having to memorize all the counties in New Jersey! 😅
Well, Uncle Joe has a little weird grasp on reality, so it actually really seems more likely that DC will become the 51 at the moment. Or at least, I haven't heard him speaking about how the Puertoricans deserve a representation.
Alternate single and double consonants starting from the sides:
M------------S
--SS------TT-
-----CH-S----
Massachusetts
Unless your comment was meant to be sarcastic, in that case, well played.

I forgot about Texas.
Still finished in 2:19 though!
I was thinking about the state capitals quiz to this
