The last few letters of many countries are often the first letters of another country. For example, the ending of Costa Rica is the beginning of Canada; together, they make Costa Ricanada. Given the geographic locations of two countries, the first letter of the first country, and the last letter of the second country, can you guess what the names of these "linked" countries are?
Countries are always linked by at least two letters (i.e. you won't get anything like "Costa Ricalbania")
You can get credit by either filling in the blank letters ("osta ricanad") or typing out the whole linked country name ("costa ricanada")
I tried striking a balance by making this a fun challenge without being too difficult. That being said, is this quiz too easy? Too hard? I'd love feedback!
Great stuff. Balance is just right IMO. Fun and not too hard but had to think a bit for a few of them. The area and letter clues combined work really well.
Excellent idea! I completely agree with overtired: mixing geographical clues and country names works very well here, and the quiz is very well built. Nominated, of course, hoping it will be featured one day.
About difficulty, I was thinking as a French-speaking taker, so some of the answers like
East Timor
weren't very intuitive for me, but I had a lot of fun taking it, so I think the balance is good, at least for me.
Thanks Poirot! I can see how it would be difficult for a French speaker. If you really like the idea though, feel free to make a French version! I'm guessing the answers will be a bit different, but I give permission to copy the format :)
