Trace the Route of Vasco da Gama on a Map!

Vasco da Gama discovered that he could reach Asia by ship by going around Africa, pioneering a new sea route and beginning Portuguese dominance of global trade. Can you name all the modern-day countries he visited on his first voyage (1497-1499)?
Includes an overseas territory; for this answer, both the name of the country and the name of the territory will work

If you enjoyed this quiz, try the one I made for Marco Polo, and check back in the future for more quizzes in the Explorers series!

I got one nomination, and before I nominated the Marco Polo, I nominated this quiz. Just brilliant. I had just learned about Da Gama in my 7th grade history class.

Thanks! :) I have plenty more of these coming up. There's one I'm planning on doing on a more obscure (but also more impressive) explorer than Marco Polo or Vasco da Gama, and I think the map will knock your socks off!

Great quiz! Maybe a future update can be drawing lines to depict the route?

I don't think I'd be able to do that. It could just be that I'm not sufficiently advanced in terms of SVGs to figure out how to do it, but I also haven't seen an SVG like that on JetPunk and I feel like if it were possible, I'd have already seen it. It would certainly be cool to see that though.

The easiest way to do that would be reversing a click map quiz, which would take tons of CSS that Stewart would have to approve before submission, in which case he might say it is a bit too much. Just wait for a mode to come out that can achieve that, honestly.

I was planning on doing so sometime, but I'm not sure exactly when. I'm pretty busy right now and unfortunately haven't had time to make many quizzes. I'll definitely try to do it sometime in the coming months when I get the chance, but for now I just ask that you wait.

Nice idea, but not very challenging. It'd be much better if the lines to a given country and the corresponding dots appeared only after that country has been guessed.
