I created a similar quiz 9 years after this one. (I searched but didn't find this one for some reason when I came up with the idea.) Anyway, I like the format of your quiz better.
First version I took this morning had Bosnia and Herzegovina on it (counting the last letter of "Bosnia" and the first letter of "and" as double a's). It was a very good choice to remove this.
This was awesome, but could you mention that the letters listed are the ones that are doubled? I thought for a while that it was the starting letter of the word for some reason (the fact that the first one I thought of was the Philippines didn't help this!)
Surprisingly hard, but a nice little quiz. Got caught out by thinking the letter referred to was the first letter, rather than the repeated letter. : (
If he is at level 35, I don't think that you are providing him with information that he was not already aware of. My apologies if the he is, in fact, a she... or something else.

Nice quiz. Inspired me to do this one of capital cities with double letters: https://www.jetpunk.com/user-quizzes/197770/world-capitals-containing-double-letters
Only got 1 point on the first try, but I kicked myself when I saw the answers I had missed!
It also refers to two provinces in The Netherlands , North and South Holland !!
Hope this helps clear things up

Having jurisdiction is not the name of the state.
