There are only the last three teams which won an international competition... the today's world cup champion (France), the previous one (Germany) and the today's euro champion (Portugal).
I really don't know with you call it the Group of Death...
group of death means something along the lines of it being an incredibly tough group with the best teams and it usually has one outlier in this case hungary which makes it really tough for them hence the name group of death
This quiz has far too much allotted time. I don't even know what UEFA Euro is, but I can definitely type in every country in Europe in the allotted time (and I did) to get to 100%.
After frantically scouring the comments for an American to mock, you came up short... so made up an American saying something silly, then mocked him. You got us good, I guess?
Although it's somewhat greedy, it gives small nations like Iceland the chance to make their country proud and upset big nations like England, which happened in 2016... Maybe it's not all bad eh?
But small nations can still qualify if the tournament is smaller and beat big nations. Greece won in 2004 with 16 participants, beating France and Portugal (twice). Denmark won in 1992 with 8 participants, beating France, the Netherlands and Germany.
My guess is that France or Belgium wins it. I'm leaning toward France, though (Belgium probably goes to the semis). I think either Germany or Netherlands will underperform and their ceilings will be the Round of 16. Denmark and Turkey are my dark horses.
I've got Lukaku winning the golden boot, Foden to win young player of the tourney, and Mbappe to win the best player award.
In my opinion Turkey will be the toughest outsider.
Alright, I take a big risk and choose Belgium for the most disappointing squad of the tournament. The "now or never" feeling may be getting strong on this golden generation, and if it happens they have an unexpected tough opposition early in the knockout stage, I'm afraid it doesn't end well for them.
It doesn't necessarily have to be an underground pick, just a team that one thinks will overachieve. Is it a hot take? Probably not, but who cares. If you want a bolder take, I guess I could see Portugal losing to Ukraine in the Ro16.
Even though the Swiss lost in the QF's in PK's, absolutely unbelievable effort from Yan Sommer, he kept Switzerland alive for all 30 extra minutes. He is an extremely underrated Goalie.
Full marks but Slovakia almost got me. Ah, Euro 2020, when l was absolutely convinced Belgium, France, Germany and the Netherlands would make the final four. In the end only the first one made it as far as the quarter finals, lol. France, Germany and the then defending champions, Portugal, all fell in the round of sixteen (they didn't call it the "group of death" for nothing, lol).
Will it live up to the "Group of Death" hype?

I guess you probably meant Turkey but Turkey does have land that is in Europe.

Now said, be sure Belgium will lift the trophy :)
Turkey are very good; tipping them isn't even slightly controversial.
