FYI, Welsh is Brythonic. Irish is Gaelic.

Clwyd hasn't been around for 20 odd years. It got dissolved and replaced with Conwy, Denbigshire and Flintshire.

Clwyd's council was dissolved. Clwyd as a county was explicitly preserved (albeit with slightly tweaked borders) in the same legislation that dissolved it's council.
