Ehhh, I think it’s pretty well deserved. Most of Roy and Chrom’s attacks are identical, apart from the fact that Roy’s have a sweetspot near the hilt of the sword and Chrom’s do the same amount of damage throughout the sword. If there was a character I’d promote from an echo to a stand alone fighter, it’d be Ken.

Dr. Mario and Pichu are echoes in spirit, but I think they chose not to make them official echoes so they didn’t clutter up the original 12. Dark Samus is the exception to this, but she was new to Ultimate and didn’t have the same legacy the Melee clones did.

I can see Isabelle being an echo, but I think there’s enough different to make her a full character.

If Ganondorf was an echo then there’d be riots.
