In Super Mario Galaxy, the player has the option to unlock and read a storybook about Rosalina’s past and origins. Name all 9 chapters of the book here.
I've wanted to talk about this for a while. This story is extremely emotional and well put together. I love nearly everything about it. However, there is one major...plot hole, I guess you'd call it. Rosalina willingly leaves her family behind forever. Some might argue that she was doing it with selfless intent, and she was a young child that didn't grasp the consequences of what she was doing. That's fine, but it makes it really hard to feel bad for her when she misses her family so much since she just left without saying a word to them. As far as we know, she literally just grabbed some stuff, jumped on a ship, and took off without even a goodbye. Plus, what was stopping her from just turning around and going home? Can't she mother the luma's there. I mean, her family has to be absolutely devastated. Think about the trauma they must be going through having lost their daughter! It's just...weird to me. I think they could've come up with a much better explanation.
I don’t remember actually ever paying any attention to the storybook. I used to think that the mom was literally just sleeping under the tree lol. Shame we didn’t get a storybook for Galaxy 2.
I heard that there was going to be a storybook for Galaxy 2 about how Rosalina and Lubba met, but Miyamoto decided that it would make the game “bad” and it was scrapped.
