Jebusites were more a tribe rather than a country. The Palmyrene Empire was a short-lived state created as result of a revolt. Palestine is grayed out due to JetPunk standards and have no factual control over the region despite being recognized as such.
Same. A pinned comment is probably more likely to be ignored on Jetpunk than a regular comment sometimes, surprised nobody's done anything to get their account banned so far
I personally think the term "Caliphate" should work for that one, even if not the others. Even though all the subsequent Arab-ruled Islamic Empires assumed hegemony and claimed the Caliphate, only the first one was the undisputed political and spiritual hegemon and, technically, the only true caliphate, in the sense that it was a successor state to Muhammad's nation (i.e. following his example in leadership). All the following were essentially imperial dynasties. Maybe this isn't a well-known fact among historians but it should be. It could also be just a massive nitpick on my part.
cool quiz. Maybe accept Seleucia? and perhaps Maccabees? and "Palestine" has never controlled any part of Jerusalem, de jure or de facto. Seems out of place, even filled in.
This has been done, but I will say that this is not what de jure means. De jure can also mean there's nominal and/or claimed control. Palestine is partially recognized and claims Jerusalem for itself, but to align with JetPunk standards, it's filled in. Hell, the quiz even acknowledges de facto Israeli control over the east.
One little nitpick: shouldn't "Persia" fill in all Persian empires? Right now it only fills in the Achaemenid and Sassanian ones, unless the Parthian Empire isn't considered Persian?
Yes, the Khwarazmian Empire are missing; they seem to have held it after an invasion in 1244. But maybe they are under the other empire, I'm not familiar on the subject.
The Khwarezmian Empire ceased to exist in 1231, though a lot of Khwarezmians kept employing themselves as mercenaries. The sack of 1244 happened when they joined forces with Ayyubid Egypt.
I played this quiz whilst studying on the history of Israel because I wanted to see when the Roman's occupation ended. Well... I forgot to guess both Rome and the Byzantine Empire! That's probably one of my biggest facepalm moments in my time on this site!
They took it from jerusalem
But i think its a short time
