- Albany had dropped under 100,000 in 2000. However, the 2021 population estimate for this city (100,710) indicates that it has reached this mark once again.
- St. Joseph is grayed out due to allegations of tampering with the total population count, possibly padding the actual population count by 25,000.
- San Angelo is a very unique case. It did not hit 100,000 in time for the 2020 census in April 2020, although an official estimate made three months later put the city at 100,066 inhabitants. This would not last long as the official 2021 estimate would put the population back down to 99,404 and continues to decline.
- This quiz will be updated yearly if applicable. New Bedford, MA and Davenport, IA are likely to join the list next year.
