Well, the inscription was meant to mock other men who believed they were mighty because Ozymandias’ works were so impressive. But obviously after thousands of years his works had been destroyed by time. Now mighty men would look upon that inscription and despair because everything they ever did would eventually crumble to dust, disappearing forever. Time conquers all.
