Being a pedant here (sorry), but both ‘to’ and ‘too’ can be adverbs.

Assuming you’re talking about the infinitive tense, I believe this line of grammatical thought is passé. “To be” is an entire verb, and “to” should not be considered an adverb. Some sources disagree, but we know for sure that too is an adverb. :)

This is the nit-pick to end all nit-picks (and the right response is almost certainly to ignore it) - the infinitive isn't a tense. It can have a tense - Greek for example has past and present infinitives - but it isn't in itself a tense.

Right, I enjoyed that, and now I am going to get out more.
