Great quiz, although, even if I could memorize all these I would never be able to type them all. I know this had to take a lot of work to create but I don't understand why some answers have to be completely typed out while others accept short versions. Some plurals require the "s" while others don't. You accept FDR and MLK, but not JFK.
All of those are simply oversights on my part. I've gone back to fix the ones you've mentioned, but there are probably dozens of other type-in inconsistencies that neither you nor I noticed.
tried for the first time and got 228, maybe will try again since I ran out of time and not ran out of ones I could remember. I think I could probably name closer to 300 of them. I'd love an option without a time limit to see.
Phenomenal! I was honestly just about to look to try and make a quiz for this on my own but decided to scour the site to see if there was one exactly like this! Thank you!
I'm actively challenging the instructions that someone won't be able to do this :P I'm up to 371 of them on the 3rd go around. Two minor things, one is missile for Minuteman Missile in South Dakota is missing the second i and could you accept St. for Saint, for ones like Saint Croix, if not, no biggie, just makes sense though.
I missed 37 parks I've actually visited ... and two that I've worked at (shame). Being an NPS junkie, I think I could get 100% on this eventually. 83% on first try is a good start!
I've taken this quiz two more times, and am over 400 now. One thing I noticed the last time I took the quiz is that the dot for Constitution Gardens is in the wrong place. I wracked my brain trying to think of what NPS unit could be at that location, only to find out at the end that dot represents Constitution Gardens. That site is actually in the heart of Washington D.C., basically on the National Mall, not in Maryland northwest of the district.
Well, somewhat spectacularly, you're right. It, along with a few other Maryland dots were wrong, most notably including the C&O Canal historic park. They've been corrected.
Also, over 400 is a truly insane score. My best is about half of that, and I consider myself a National Parks nerd.
Took this quiz for the 6th time (I wasn't doing a new try for a few days each time to let info sink in) and finally got 100%! We'll put a little * next to it though. I remembered Pu`uhonua O Hōnaunau, but kept butchering spelling and looked it up.
No-- despite also being national scenic trails, those are not NPS sites as they are managed by the forest service. Similarly, some but not all national monuments are NPS sites, while others are managed by the BLM, the forest service, the fish and wildlife service, and even the DOE.
