For Seoul it should be 서울 (seo-ul) and not 서울시 (seo-ul-si) as 시(si) is a suffix meaning city, used for the province of Seoul.

the suffix city is used for the province? that is confusing. So compared to the US, Washington DC would be the state and Washington (state) would be the city? Or Mexico City would be the country and just Mexico would be the city?

Interesting though :)

Seoul isn't really a province, it's a city with a special status, and the full title is 서울특별시, Seoul Special Metropolitan city. My interpretation of their comment is that they meant you only really use this title when you want to highlight the administrative entity at the same level as a province. It's as if you were just calling the city Washington and only using Washington D.C. if you wanted to highlight it's status as a district under special administration outside of any state government. No idea if it's true, but that's how it would make sense to me.

How much i hate that the most jetpunkers are from US. I mean famous Colorado ski resort and that town in Massachusetts. Looks like reaching just to have US cities.

Which other cities would you have included instead?

Something that Europeans have a chance of knowing before taking the quiz

I'm European and I knew Vail.

You are an exception, go ask people around on the street and count how many of the know Vail. Probably nobody.

APHill, I didn't know those two US cities either and they remain the least-guessed on this quiz. In answer to your question, I would propose Erbil and Invercargill instead.

Heard of Erbil but not the other one, gonna look it up (I see it only has 50000 residents, is there something it is known for?)

My suggestions would be Roswell and Wuppertal (which I actually tried as a wild guess for the German France, Switzerland question, not knowing its exact location).

Hm, Roswell would really work as a replacement for US cities haha, I guess I was just thinking of places I would have been able to get. Still, it would work as a replacement since it is more well known, eventhough it is still US

I think Roswell is a good shout, I've not heard of any of the US ones in this quiz, but have heard of Roswell. I don't think it is an issue that there are three US cities on the quiz, seems a reasonable number to me, the issue imo is that they are too obscure.

chernobyl could be one.

Villareal in Spain would be a good option in my opinion, a small city but they have a top flight football team so not as obscure as some of these answers.

I only knew Vail from the Geography by Letter - V quiz (which has since been removed).

So, are you saying you won’t be happy unless there are zero US questions, or are you saying you want only easy questions? I’m American and I got two of the three US questions correct, and I scored only 8 total, which gives me lots of room to improve.

I confused Bangui with Banjul, it's easily done.

Wow the average score is `11! I was only able to get 4 and there are only 3 others would have had a chance of guessing, knowing them well enough. (I got the top 3 and 1976, could ve gotten the capital, Swiss and English port) (trying not to give away answers to cheaters)

Down to average score of 9 now, I only got 7 myself. This is a tough one, just not many cities ending in L so some pretty obscure ones making the list.
