Although it is an imponent and strong symbol for us brazilian people, the Jaguar is not the official animal of Brasil. The closest we got to an official animal is the Sabiá-laranjeira, a bird defined as brazilians official national bird in 2002 via decree by the current president Fernando Henrique Cardoso.
