Brightest Stars A-Z

For each letter, name the brightest star with a proper name officially approved by International Astronomical Union (IAU).
Only OFFICIALLY APPROVED proper names as of Mar 2025. For example, "Regor" and "Navi" are not included.
"Toliman" is automatically opened because it is a fainter component of another star. You should answer the brightest star starting with T, without "Toliman".
You can find the list of approved star names on this page on IAU website.
Apparent magnitudes of stars brighter than magnitude of 2.50 indicated in this quiz (VMag) are from here. For fainter stars, data are from SIMBAD Astronomical Database.
