typ in all the names countries use for their First-level subdivisions.
For example: First-level subdivisions in Belize are called districts, but First-level subdivisions in Bahrain are called governorates
Some countries like China use multiple names for their first-level Subdivisions. You need to name them all for the purpose of this quiz.

the answers may be a bit different from the ALL first level subdivions of the world on a map quiz because I used a different source.

there are 3 points I need to highlight about this quiz:

1. some subdivisions might be debatable. not every country makes it clear what exactly is a first- or second-level subdivision. For Example: Many people in the Netherlands see the provinces as first-level subdivisions but they are technically second-level subdivisions when you take in mind that the Netherlands is one of four ''countries'' within the kingdom. there are similiar situations with other countries.

2. some first-level subdivisions used in this quiz might be dusputed. for example: the autonomous republics Abkhazia and South Ossetia in Georgia.

3. I will add type-ins for native names of subdivisions in the future. For now you need to typ the english names of these first-level subdivisions. But in the future you will be able to typ things like bundeslander for Austria.

Okay I really like the quiz had fun guessing all the different things I can remember, few things. I think you should make it so that the plurals don't matter. I don't know if there's a specific reason for doing it but I think the person doing the quiz shouldn't have to type in province and provinces, city and cities, autonomous region and regions, union territory and territories, prefecture and prefectures. Also I think 'overseas territory' should work for the French one and the British one.

The plurals are based on the amount of subdivisions that country has. So for example you have to type ''city'' for Uganda because the country only has one first-level subdivision called a city, but you have to type ''cities'' for trinidad and tobago because the country has multiple first-level subdivisions that are called ''cities''. I know it's a bit confusing, but I decided to go with it because it wouldn't make a lot of sense to have plurals for unique administrative entities. for example: in the USA you say states because there are 50 of them, but nobody says federal districts when refering to the capital since there is only one.

for the second point. I agree with the british overseas territories, but I am not so sure about the french overseas territories as they are called collectivities. there is one french overseas region that is called a overseas territory, so I will add the type-in for that one.

thanks for the constructive feedback and I am glad you enjoyed the quiz:)

I have made a pro version of this quiz where you have to guess first-level subdivisions in their native language. you can play it here: https://www.jetpunk.com/user-quizzes/280752/names-countries-use-for-their-first-level-subdivisions-pro

i wish there was a quiz for lower level subdivisions, also, when there is only one subdivision, why do you sometimes have to name the subdivision itself (nouakchott, ross dependency, tokyo metropolis) while at other times you just have to name the type of subdivision (municipality, province, prefecture)?, also, as previously stated by another user, it would honestly just be much more fun if you only had to name singular forms not plurals, also, isnt there three names for antigua and barbuda (one for antigua parishes, one for barbuda, one for redonda)
