But why are the countries shapes so "squared" ?

I think it's hard to hide a coloured character in a single-coloured map. The original Wally's supposed to be hidden inside a colourful image full of many objects with boundaries between them. This makes the quiz a bit easier, along with the fact that countries tend to repeat just as Wally's positions inside them. Consistently doing 7 to 10 seconds.

Anyways, I appreciate the effort in doing the quiz
