Is it really correct to say that Kansas used to be a part of Texas, when it's only the small portion (less than 10%) of the state south and west of Dodge City that was? Is it correct to say that the United States used to be part of Russia since Alaska was?
cpgatbyu, I realize that Kansas was not fully part of Texas, but some of it was, so I consider it as part of Texas, and on your other comment, I did the drivable distance using Google Maps, not Google Earth, so that's why it says that, and I will elaborate on that question. Thank you for your concern.
The listed answer to the "Capital is closer to Chicago" question seems to be wrong. According to Google Earth, Topeka is 467 miles from Chicago, while Little Rock is 554 miles from Chicago.
