Nice mini-quiz! I wonder if less people got Guinea-Bissau because the U at the end of that is pronounced like an O or Ow, while in all the others it’s a clear U? Sorry, it’s my linguist brain haha ;)

I think it's mostly because Africa has way more countries than Oceania or South America, and "Guinea-Bissau" is probably not one of the ones that jumps to mind first.

For me personally Guinea-Bissau didn't jump out at me because it never crossed my mind. I was going through the country and verbally saying the countries I came across and kept stumbling on ones that ended in "-ia". It was easier getting the other 5 because both Oceania and South America don't have many countries. Africa has over 3x as many countries.

For me I was typing it in a 1 second but missed it. I mostly missed it because I grouped it with Guinea, and Guinea ended with A. The mind works weirdly on a timer.

They have a good change of winning percentage of countries countries with a's and u's. (48 countries containing an a ánd u, yes I counted ;) hope I didn't miss any) 6/14 have a's and u's in Oceania, nearly half.

Europe has 6 aswell but 45 countries, north america has 8/23 only 7/48 for asia, but south america actually wins with 6/12. Africa has 15 but out of a total of 54.

Interesting how 3 of the continents have 6 countries with a's and u's. (6,6,6,7,8,15 ok that's enough numbers for today, I'll spare you the actuall %)

I got the Oceania and South America countries in the first 10 seconds and spent the rest of the time trying to think of Guinea-Bissau

How??? I understand that about Oceania, but you got the country of the continent with the most countries (54) easily, but not of the continent with the least countries (12) (excluding Antarctica).

Good thing there were categories. I made it with a minute left, without the categories I think I would only have gotten one country. And that has nothing to do with the obscurity of oceania or something, but due to the fact I would start to try and think of all the countries at once and my brain would be overloaded, and then I would see the time tick and wouldnt be able to think at all.

I didn’t get to guinea Bissau because normally when thinking of African countries i do guinea Bissau second to last, only before cape verde
