Interesting quiz. I wonder how they decide upon some of these things. I've had many of these foods, often in the places famous for them. But I missed many countries where I have visited, eaten, even lived... a bunch I would associate with other foods.. like... Jamaica with Jamaican jerk chicken or patties, Mexico with tacos or burritos, India with curry or biryani or naan (my opinion maybe influenced by the number of Pakistanis vs Indians living in Saudi Arabia), Ethiopia with injera

I lived in Bahrain for over 2 years and don't think I ever heard of Machboos before. Spent a lot of time in Romania and not sure what Sarmale is (it's possible I ate it and didn't realize what it was called, I do that a lot). And though I know Pad Thai is very famous and widely thought of as the signature Thai dish... it's such a horrible representation. Thai food is delicious and wonderful but pad thai is just about the worst thing they make there.

Also more time would be useful.

I looked up Machboos and apparently it's a Bahraini variant of Saudi kabsa (spiced rice and meat)... so maybe the 6 years I spent in Saudi Arabia eating kabsa tired me on the concept and so I never bothered seeking this out in Bahrain.

I only knew Jamaica because of the song Jamaica farewell.

"Ackee rice, saltfish are nice, and the rum is fine any time of year"

Fun quiz! I haven't heard of the vast majority of these, and many of them were lucky guesses. A lot of them look really good and I'd love to try them!

Nice quiz, I want to try all of these someday! I'm a little sad to learm that bunny chow isn't the national food of South Africa.

I love this idea, but could have used a lot more time. I did better than most users (>93%) and still didn't even make it to the end of the list. Would have been fun to have some time to guess the ones where you could identify the region or language, but didn't know the specific country.

"Kottu" is a very tasty food in Sri Lanka. I've tried it so many times. it's great. But "Milk rice " is the national dish in Sri Lanka.

Here is the recipe for making Kottu:https://youtu.be/CuopAlIi5yM

Try it and Enjoy it

A nice idea, but not well put together; multiple dishes have multiple different countries (and/or vice-versa), and some countries are missed altogether

Some countries may share a single national dish such as Algeria, Morocco, and Tunisia with couscous. That is why there might be more than one correct country for some of the national dishes. As for the "missed countries", I'm pretty sure I included all the countries listed on Quizmaster's countries of the world quiz, but please let me know if there are any countries specifically that I missed so that I can add them. This topic was pretty difficult because national dishes are rarely official, so I tried my best. Sorry if it's not the best. This was my second quiz after all. :)

Thank you for making this quiz - I learned a lot from it and it's made me hungry :)

Although we're not a sovereign nation (yet!) and therefore don't qualify to be part of the quiz, my country's national dish is cawl (lamb & leek soup) :)
