It's election day and you are representing the Lime Green Party of America. Name any state to grab its electoral votes and defeat the hated Periwinkle party.
Right now, only 4.5% of people can win the election on their first attempt. Would it be worthwhile to add ten seconds to the time and reset the stats? What do you guys think?
The thing is that if the stats weren't reset, then it'd be unfair to the people who took it before the reset (you could always just screenshot your stats though; I'm sure you could easily regain the five points if you're concerned about that)
Ohio and NH are short enough to be worth it, maybe Idaho and Kansas too? A chart for points per letter would be nice, but I would recommend Texas, California, New York, Pennsylvania, NH, Ohio, Kansas, Texas, Georgia, Indiana.
Assuming: 1) correct state names, 2) abbreviations for NYC, NH, NJ, and DC, 3) spaces are not typed, here is a list of the number of electoral votes per character typed.
There are other shortenings you can use as well: ilinos, pensylvania, misuri, tenesee, minesota, loisiana, masachusets, misisipi, conneticut, and roadisland all give better votes/character.
New electoral system? I got curious... Every state now gets one electoral vote for each letter in it's name.
Ignoring DC (would you count it as DC for two votes, or District of Columbia for 18?), and changing Nebraska and Maine to winner-takes-all system like the rest of the country, there are 422 electoral votes available.
For 2024:
Donald Trump wins 252 (60% of electoral votes, up from 58% in reality)
Kamala Harris wins 170 (40% of electoral votes, down from 42% in reality)
Honestly kind of shocked it matches up with reality so closely. Maybe this is how we should award electoral votes!
I just recreated the blue states in this year's election. What a pitiful outcome. Hopefully we can get through these four years and elect a better candidate in 2028
Wow, a really cool game! One thing I would change is something about spelling mistakes because its annoying if, for example i would want to write down "Pennsylvania" i have to type it quite fast so that i can move on to the next state but because i am typing so fast i might write "Pennslyvania" and i will have to delete all of that and then write it again which means i wasted crucial seconds having to do that (Pennsylvania isn't the only state i have had issues with)
