I think certain people in power today should be reminded of all these quotes.

Adams probably should have been reminded of them at various points, as well.

Tough quiz for a Brit. I thought I had done reasonably well with 8, but the average is 15!

Quite a few of the answers mean nothing to me probably becuase I wasn't brought up in America and stuff like this we just don't hear or learn about in the UK. Interesting though.

Ah, the famous quote from the Treaty of Tripoli about religion. I wish it were true, but the government only did that to try to convince pirates to stop attacking US ships, as the pirates claimed they were doing it for religious reasons.

What do you mean you wish it were true? Of course it is true. In which way is it not true?

True, Bernard, the quote is from a US treaty with the Barbary pirates, and not a quote from John Adams.

The treaty clarifies that the dispute is about commerce, and not about religion, as the Muslim pirates tried to make it seem.

The quizz master needs to correct this error.

There is no error. If you'd looked closer you could have seen that in less time than it took you to type that out.

I find it interesting that three of our first five presidents died on July 4, with Adams and Jefferson dying on the same day. Monroe died five years later.
